Chaos as Sonko is forced to Intervene after angry Youth storm Mortuary

Tension was high at the Hospital Mortuary

Sonko was forced to settled a medical bill of Sh185,000 of a middle aged man in Kasarani after the 100 youth caused chaos and confusion at the hospital.

The youth who were carrying a coffin on Monday evening, demanded that the management of the Hospital should give them their deceased person who had been detained for almost a month.

The deceased identified as Joseph Mwangi had been hospitalized at the facility for three months before succumbing to his illness a month ago.

The Youth were in company of Nairobi MCAs Mwaura Samora and Nacy Monyangi who called upon the hospital to release the deceased.

“We therefore decided to storm the mortuary and take Mwangi’s body by force” said Ms Monyangi.

The MCA’s called Governor Sonko on phone and asked him to settle the Sh185,000 medical bill that had accumulated over time.

Sonko cleared the bill  on Monday evening and Mwangi’s body was handed over to his family, but after 30 minutes wait.

The hospital administrator says tension was high, even after Governor Sonko had setteled the Medical bill because the youth were demanding for immediate release of Mwangi’s body, yet the hospital administration had to ensure the money is sent before the body is released.
