Sonko exposes 4 powerful people in Uhuru’s Gov't who are blocking Ruto’s 2022 bid

The four are said to have been holding night meetings to sabotage DP Ruto's 2022 presidency bid.

Sonko claimed that the four – Interior PS Dr Karanja Kibicho and Nancy Gitau (once Uhuru’s adviser) and two others whom he failed to name – have been holding night meetings with Kikuyu leaders to complicate matters for DP Ruto.

In a rejoinder, however, even after Sonko accused Mr Kibicho of influencing him to pick a new deputy, the PS denied having any night meetings to plot the ouster of DP Ruto from the race in 2022.

"We don't do night meetings and if we did, I would tell you. Nobody is trying to fight the DP but there is a cartel of people who always act like they are his protectors. I run the intelligence of this country and there are no such meetings," said Kibicho as quoted by the on Tuesday.

He added: "Tell Sonko to man up and address the people he wants to address but not through me. He should address that person directly because that's what men do. I am not a politician and neither would I be politicking around the DP.”

Mr Kibicho further explained that his fallout with Sonko was occasioned by the decision to stop him (Sonko) from flying two flags on his vehicle. Only the president is allowed by law to fly two flags on the vehicle.

"Our problems started when he tried to fly two flags like the President and because I am the Interior PS, I am responsible for making him remove the flags."

"When you are drowning, you hold on to everything including straws. Tell him to leave Kibicho alone and start cleaning Nairobi," he said.
