Political analyst Tony Gachoka has cautioned Deputy President William Ruto against a strategy he has been implementing to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

Mr. Gachoka divulged that the hustler strategy Ruto was using to position himself for the 2022 Presidential race was a dangerous one.

DP Ruto nicknamed himself hustler during his political campaigns after narrating that he was a mere chicken seller who had risen to become Kenya’s 1st Deputy President. He has been using it to relate with Kenyans at the grassroot level.

According to the former journalist, it was not healthy to divide the country along the lines of the hustler and those privileged.

"I think the advisors of the Vice President should be very careful not to advise him about this politics of hustler versus the entitled," he said.

Mr. Gachoka noted that this strategy was simply grouping people and subtly communicating that the privileged should not be given a chance.

"Why should you be condemned because of your father?" he posed.

"The advisors of the DP need to be careful not to group people saying that is Gideon Moi the family is entitled or Kenyatta or Jaramogi.

"The way to do politics in Kenya is not to group people, we should group ideas. Let’s talk about the content of character and people. We need to look at the ability of people to deliver," Gachoka added.
