The lawmaker was later released on a free bond after police established thathe was in Mombasa for a Parliamentary meeting during the attack.

Instead, Aladwa was charged with participating in an illegal event.

Other leaders including Kalonzo, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Embakasi MP Babu Owino among others divulged that their bodyguards had been withdrawn.

Passport Suspension

On Tuesday the Government through the Department of Immigration Services suspended the passports of National Super Alliance (NASA) Chief Strategist David Ndii, controversial businessman Jimi Wanjigi, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

The leaders were instructed to submit the document to the Immigration office.

Miguna Miguna arrested and Deported

Self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna may be the only Opposition leader who has suffered tremendously after pushing and participating in Odinga’s swearing-in.

Miguna was theatrically apprehended by flying squad officers at his Runda home on Friday, February 2, 2018.

The Canadian-based lawyer was then freed by the High Court on a Sh50, 000 cash bail but police officers refused to release him.

After his last appearance on Friday evening, Miguna disappeared from the public eye, something that prompted his lawyers to question whether he was alive or in the hospital during a court session.

Despite court orders issued to police to have Miguna availed in court so that he can be charged the police continually defied the orders.

Three times the police failed to produce Miguna at Milimani Law Courts. Instead, he was taken to a Kajiado Court on Tuesday where he was expected to take a plea which he refused.

He insisted to be taken to Nairobi where Justice Luka Kimaru was waiting to hear his case at 3 PM.

It appeared that Miguna was en route to Milimani Law Court where NASA leaders including Mr. Odinga convened awaiting his arrival but he never showed up.

Instead, the Government opted to deport the former Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant to Canada on grounds that he had renounced his Kenyan Citizenship.
