Uhuru given 72-hour ultimatum

Send him home now

Speaking during a press conference in Parliament, the lawmakers accused Mr. Rotich of remaining silent in the midst of mega-corruption scandals in the county.

Led by Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, the lawmakers stated that the Gazette notice issued by the Treasury CS was what led to the importation of sugar laced with heavy metals.

"We have a myriad of reason and we need Rotich to go home. There is the Eurobond saga which was not explained to Kenyans, he was just there ignorantly and lazy to execute in his duties as the National Treasury CS.

"We feel that we have the wrong CS at the Treasury," Amisi said.

Mr. Amisi divulged that if President Kenyatta does not send Rotich home by Friday then a motion to impeach the CS will be tabled in Parliament.

“We plead to the President to come in and reign and save this country from further deaths. When we talk about sugar being laced with lead and copper... these are dangerous metal for the consumption of human beings. We are at risk.

“This is a high time to call the CS off duty and we are giving him up to Friday," he added.

The MPs further claimed that they have already lobbied their colleagues to rally behind Rotich’s impeachment.
