Ndii, who is a close ally of ODM Leader Raila Odinga, opined that the emergence of numerous corruption scandals is a weaponised strategy targeted at Ruto and his political patronage.
In the past two weeks, there have been six corruption scandals which have touched on NYS, the NCPB maize scandal, the NCPB fertiliser scandal, Kenya Power, Kenya Pipeline Company, and the forest scandal that was unravelled on Monday.
"This is not about fighting corruption. It is the weaponisation of anti-corruption to fight political wars. The upsurge of these scandals; you have seen NYS, NCPB, Kenya Power, etc; is to serve two purposes - to finish the Deputy President and to sanitise President Kenyatta," Ndii stated.

The economist likened the situation to the biblical story of Jesus casting demons from people and putting them in pigs which then went over a cliff.
"If you have to sanitise Uhuru Kenyatta, you have to cast out the demons of corruption over the past four years which he presided over. The convenient place to put them is in William Ruto and his patronage networks," he said during an interview with KTN News.
According to Ndii, the problem with corruption emanated from lack of political accountability and starts from the very top positions and can only be stopped by reforms that will create strong institutions.
