President Kenyatta changes tact in war against corruption as CS Kiunjuri vows to name big fish

Strategy is being implemented to weed out corrupt government officials

This entails a new round of vetting of senior officials in the executive which is being done secretly by a multi-agency team

A team single-handedly picked by the president will be reviewing files on track record and dealings of senior officials to determine their suitability to hold public offices with the final decision resting with the president.

In a rare shift from the vetting the officials are subjected to in parliament, this time the officials will not participate in the vetting by the team largely drawn from National Intelligence Service (NIS).
