Wiper Secretary General Mutula Kilonzo Junior, stated that his party had not been notified of any plans to swear in Odinga.
He added that he was doubtful that the event would take place since his party leader was out of the country and no consultations had been made to facilitate the ceremony.
“It is uncertain whether the swearing-in will take place because NASA co-leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who is also the Wiper Party leader, is currently out of the country and it still remains unclear whether he will have returned by December 12."
“Our current acting chairperson, Governor Kivutha Kibwana, has not yet convened a meeting to give us details on the swearing in. I, however, appeal for calm and peace because whatever will happen on December 12 will be done within the confines of the law,” Kilonzo, who is also the Makueni Senator, stated.
The Makueni Senator is one of Musyoka's trusted allies and had recently paid his party leader a visit in Germany.
The development came as Odinga's team insisted that the controversial inauguration would proceed at an undisclosed location.
