Kalonzo’s team causes tension in NASA

Some Wiper MPs have accused ODM of planning to sideline Kalonzo in 2022 race.

The leaders were led by the senator in Musyoka’s home County of Kitui, Enoch Wambua.

Wambua criticised the idea of having an economic boycott claiming that the move was likely to work against Opposition supporters, particularly in Wiper’s stronghold of Ukambani region.

“The bigwigs who were involved in the alleged election rigging and other malpractice should be dealt with, not the employees and other beneficiaries. There are so many NASA supporters who will end up jobless as well,” Wambua complained.

The Senator stated that the three companies that had been targeted in NASA’s boycott campaign were major employers in the country with employees from both sides of the political divide.

“What will happen to them when they lose their jobs? Consider the tough economic times we live in.” the legislator stated.

Wambua spoke in Musyoka’s backyard of Mwingi where he had attended the homecoming party of a local MCA.

Other leaders at the function, including Kitui Deputy Governor Wathe Nzau and the county assembly majority leader Peter Kilonzo supporter Wambua’s sentiments and urged NASA to engage President Uhuru Kenyatta in dialogue instead of sabotaging the economy.

The development came a few days after the Wiper Party, under the direction of Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, resolved to pull out of NASA’s plans to have mass protests.
