Rails said that Rosemary is doing very well and is recovering in an apartment in South Africa after undergoing a surgery in Johannesburg.

The Nasa leader also revealed that Rosemary also spent two months in a rehabilitation centre and was discharged.

Raila said that Rosemary was extremely grateful for the overwhelming show of support and messages of sympathy during the trying time.

Raila also thanked Kenyans for their show of sympathy and assured them that Rosemary is well.

Shelved political ambitions

Last month Rosemary posted a video on her social media pages where she thanked Kenyans for their support and said she was recovering well.

In the video, she announced that she will not be vying for the Kibra parliamentary seat which her father Raila represented for two decades.

"I will not be vying for the Kibra parliamentary seat for health reasons but will remain helping out the residents of Kibra Constituency. I wish them well and will fully support whoever ODM picks to vie for the Kibra MP seat," Rosemary said in the video.

Rosemary narrated how she suffered a stroke while in Naivasha and was airlifted to Nairobi's Aga Khan Hospital where she underwent surgery.

She was later flown to South Africa where she underwent further surgery and is still recovering up to now.
