Veteran KTN journalist gets top Jubilee job

The race for 2017 elections has trickled down to strategy and Jubilee party is settling for renowned journalists to help them with their communications.

Business Today reports that veteran journalist Alex Chamwada has been appointed for a top job at Jubilee party.

Apparently Chamwada has joined the newly formed Jubilee party secretariat as communications specialist.

Alex is currently employed by Standard Group as content provider, his independent production company, Chams media, runs two programs on KTN; Daring Abroad and the Chamwada Report.

Alex appointment to Jubilee party secretariat doesn’t come as a surprise per se, only last week he announced someone would be filling in for him for the Chamwada Report making many question where he was going.

It’s however not clear whether the veteran journalist will be juggling between his work at Jubilee party and his shows; Daring Abroad requires him to travel overseas frequently.

Jubilee party couldn’t have settled for anyone else for the job, Chamwada comes with a backlog of experience in media and communication.

Chamwada has worked for KBC, Citizen TV, KTN, Voice of America, CNN and BBC in different capacities both as an anchor and a reporter.

He holds a Master’s degree in Politics and Mass Media from the University of Liverpool, a post-graduate diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Sciences from Moi University.

Chamwada has also worked as a communications consultant with the UN-Habitat which puts him at an apex position for the Jubilee party’s communications specialist job.
