Tout bites of man's lip as he steals from him in a Rongai matatu (photos)

Matatu crew are becoming a huge threat to the safety and welfare of the passengers who use public service vehicles. When they are not being driven with wanton disregard of traffic rules, matatus are turned to havens of criminal activities conducted by the crew against the passengers.

Crew of a Rongai Matatu attacked a male passenger robbed him and inflicted grievous wounds on him leaving him in urgent need of medical help.

According to the man’s sister who brought the issue to limelight by sharing the story, his brother was attacked by one of the touts who tried to to steal his phone.

The man now identified as Bernard Chege resisted and confronted the tout who then viciously attacked him.

The tout big Chege’s lips and cut off a significant chunk off. Bernard was let in pain and bleeding profusely. The Matatu’s driver, its conductor and the tout then threw him off the bus after stealing his phone and money.

The incident happened in the late hours of the night as the Bernard had boarded the matatu at around 11pm.

He managed to get the Matatu’s number plate and reported the incident to a police station before getting medical attention at a hospital. Here is the narration by the victim

“I WANT  JUSTICE FOR MY BROTHER  !!!!!!  Matatu za rongai on the spot again!  My brother was coming from kericho  for an interview in rongai so after job he was late he had to come to Nairobi on reaching Nairobi he took a nganya of rongao sacco it was around 11pm when they reached Barclays stage in rongai one of the makanga tried to put his hand on my brother's pocket but my brother noticed and confronted him asking why  but the makanga got mad and bite my brother's upper lip mpaka akamkata nyama so the mat stopped and they threw him out stealing his phone but they threw his bag out he took the mats number and headed to the station to report but the madam who was there sent him away refusing to book his story but the officer who was Manning the entrance intervened and  the case was booked the driver of the mat on knowing what has happened took  volunteered to pay the hospital bill of 9k and they gave him  back his phone now the question is why did he volunteer if he doesn't know the makanga who bite my bro and why did they return his phone the driver must be arrested to produce the makanga since he know him it seems this drivers are collaborating with theives to harass and steal from their customers the nganyas number is KCB 632 M they even stole from him the money he had how can they throw my brother out of the mat  and the one who bite my brother remains in the car help me circulate this until the arrest is made.”
