Harambee stars has been camping at the Machakos based stadium in readiness to face the mighty Uganda Cranes who have been the "kings" of East African football.
Harambee stars coach Stanley Okumbi had called upon a total of 11 foreign players among them Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Victor Wanyama who will also double up as the captain.
The Okumbi coached side has dropped a total of five players form their camp. Humphrey Mieno, Vincent Oburu, Sammy Meja, Jeremiah Wanjala and Maurice Ojwang were dropped due to injuries.
The Machakos stadium will play host to the two friendly matches of Uganda Cranes and DRC Congo slated on Thursday and Sunday respectively.
The international friendlies were moved from Kasarani stadium due to ongoing renovations at the stadium. Harambee has been camping at Kenyatta stadium in Machakos for the better part of this week.
According to coach Stanley Okumbi they will tackle Uganda Cranes with the necessary skills in order to register a win.
“This friendly match is very import to us and therefore we are going in fully focused to secure a win,” said Okimbi.
Uganda Cranes jetted into the country on Monday and they are expected in Machakos later today. Meanwhile DRC Congo team landed yesterday ahead of their game slated on Sunday.
Tickets for the matches will be sold at the venue, on match day and will go for Sh100 terrace and Sh300 VIP. Both matches will kick off at 3 pm Kenyan time with gates opening at 11 am.
Early this week Eric Ouma, Ayub Timbe and Eric Johanna turned down the offer to play for Harambee stars due to club commitments. The three had just joined their various clubs in the just concluded transfers demanded more time to settle in their clubs.
