Ingwe fans could be treated to another heartbreak in their next match after falling to Western Stima on Saturday.
Omino guided his team to beat AFC Leopards 1-0 in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Saturday July 29 at Nyayo national stadium before explaining that his charges will do the same against Ingwe when they meet in Kisumu for the league’s second leg opener.
“We are happy for the win today because it is a morale booster for us. I’m very sure of surging away from relegation zone very soon.
“In fact, we are assured of another three points from our next match because we are playing against AFC Leopards at home."
On the other hand, Coach Robert Matano noted areas of weakness in AFC Leopards’ squad but promised to make amends in a bid to collect maximum points against the Powermen.
“We started the match badly; we didn’t create chances in the first half but we played as a team in the second half. I think we were simply unlucky. Our focus now shifts to next match where we target three points.”
Striker Ezekiel Otuoma was the man who headed in for Western Stima in the 11 minute to stamp authority over AFC Leopards.
In other matches of the day, Sofapaka registered a 1-1 draw against Muhoroni Youth, Nzoia Sugar beat Ulinzi Stars 2-0, Kakamega Homeboyz drew Mathare United 1-1 while Chemelil Sugar FC drew Thika United 0-0.
