SportPesa Super Cup Fiamenyo doubtful for AFC Leopards v Gor Mahia clash

Key striker Gilbert Fiamenyo is among players who are still under doctor’s watch at AFC Leopards, hours before the SportPesa Super Cup battle against Gor Mahia.

In an interview with P Live during their last training session ahead of the final match, assistant coach Dennis Kitambi revealed that the Ghanaian forward, defender Marcus Abwao and midfielder Whyvonne Isuza will have to be cleared by the doctor to play against K’Ogalo.

“Right now we have like three players whose injury status is under the doctor’s watch. They include Gilbert (Fiamenyo), Marcus (Abwao) and Isuza (Whyvonne).

“The good thing is that they have trained with us today so we will find out if they can play tomorrow. The doctor will provide the final report."

He further admitted that Fiamenyo’s absence can be a major challenge but explained that all strikers at AFC Leopards can deliver.

“It could be a blow but we are ready to face such challenges. If he doesn’t get a clean bill of health, we will use a proper replacement whom we believe will equally perform.”

All the three players were in the squad which knocked out Yanga in the tourney’s semis.
