Kalonzo Gets New Offer After Raila Withdraws from Elections
Is this a Golden Opportunity for Kalonzo?
A section of Jubilee party leaders have asked Kalonzo to abandon NASA and join President Uhuru Kenyatta for the benefit of Kamba Community.
Former Turbo MP Elisha Busienie urged the Wiper leader to accept working with Kenyatta noting that in 2022 he will be in a better position to be on the ballot box with Deputy President William Ruto.
"We know Kalonzo is a man of good deeds and a church elder. Once we re-elect [President Uhuru Kenyatta], we will welcome Kalonzo back to Jubilee and they can pair with [DP William] Ruto in 2022," Mr. Busienie said.
Speaking during Jubilee campaigns in Ikanga, other leaders including Nominated MP Maina Kamanda and Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai mentioned that Opposition was using the area’s youth to only cause chaos.
"Let those demonstrating in Kisumu vandalize their own infrastructure. If they try to vandalize anything in Nairobi, we the Kamandas are there to protect our property," he stated.
The leaders accused the former Prime Minister of abandoning then noting that Kenyatta and Ruto have presented themselves in the area on several occassions.
On Tuesday, Mr Odinga and Kalonzo withdrew from the presidential race noting that IEBC failed to adhere to the irreducible minimums they presented before the elections could be held.
According to the Opposition, the elections would not be free and fair as currently constituted.
