PS Omollo taken back to Lang’ata Prison

Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Lillian Mbogo-Omollo was on Wednesday taken back to Lang’ata Women’s Prison after her 15-day admission at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Ms. Omollo, who is a suspect in the multi-billion corruption scandal at the National Youth Service (NYS), was reportedly transferred to the prison after investigators concluded that her condition did not warrant her continued stay at the hospital.

Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti confirmed to that PS Omollo was discharged from KNH and transferred to the Women's prison.

"We found no worth clinical issue that would warrant continued stay," he told Pulselive.co.ke in a text message.

When probed whether Ms Omollo will receive any special treatment while prison because of her health condition, Mr Kinoti answered with a vehement NO.

On May 30, the PS collapsed at the Women’s Prison and was rushed to KNH after the High Court remanded her together with 21 other suspects.

Reports indicated that Ms. Omollo, who is allegedly pregnant, was receiving treatment in the referral’s hospital private wing.

The DCI boss stated that he sent investigators to examine the PS.

According to Kinoti if it was established that the Ms. Omollo was using the sickness as a scapegoat, those involved would be punished.
