Margaret Ndung’u, the immediate former Cabinet Secretary for ICT, has declined President William Ruto’s nomination as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana.

Citing personal reasons, Ndung’u announced her decision just days after the official announcement of her appointment, in a letter to the Parliamentary Committee for Defence and Foreign Relations.

The nomination was part of President Ruto’s recent Cabinet reshuffle, in which former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo was nominated to the ICT docket.

Margaret’s rejection marks the second time a nominee for the Accra posting has turned down the position, following former West Mugirango MP Victor Mogaka Kemosi's similar decision in April 2024.
