Coast Regional Coordinator, Nelson Marwa, has called for the closure of four strip clubs in Nyali, Mombasa.
Marwa also declared that the strippers- who were revealed to be of Indian and Nepalese descent- have to be apprehended.
He demanded the Mombasa governor to look into the situation.
“What is happening in Nyali? What is the motivation? The clubs must be closed and [Mombasa Governor Hassan] Joho review their liquor license,” he said.
According to The Star this is after the arrest of three Indian women and seven Nepalese foreigners at Sham House and Bar.
The Indian women recorded statements with the police but were released after the Indian High Commissioner intervened.
Zubair Deen, Shama Deen and their daughter Zeba Deen were arrested and charged with trafficking by detectives from transnational Organized Crime Unit on December 30th.
Marwa had hinted at collusion between Mombasa authorities and the strip club owners.
He also called for the immediate closure of shisha dens.
