Kenyan Man Commits Suicide, Leaves behind Disturbing Note to Wife

He blames his wife for his death

A Kenyan man has committed suicide and left behind a disturbing note to his wife.

The man identified as Mwatiati, a resident of Molo area in Juja Kiambu County wrote a suicide note blaming his wife for his woes before he hung himself.

According to a report by Citizen Digital, Mwatiati accused his wife Jerusha Njoki of abandoning him when he was sick.

“Thank you for abandoning me while I was ill. But know that for the rest of your life, you will never get married to someone else,” read part of the suicide note written in Swahili.

In the note, Mwatiati further says that his wife will see no peace for the rest of her life.

“Although you told me that your mother bewitched your father, you will not survive my curse. Just wait for me to be buried and you will see what will befall you. No amount of prayers for deliverance will save you,” read the suicide note.

According to the deceased’s brother Simon Ndirangu, the relationship between the deceased and his wife took a turn for the worst about two years ago when he lost his job at a Thika-based liquor factory.

He added that because of the domestic challenges, the wife has been going to her parents and coming back every now and then and when he fell sick, Njoki left their matrimonial home with her belongings while her husband was asleep and also took their children with her.

The body of the deceased was moved to Thika Level 5 General Kago Funeral Home, after area Chief Muchui Muiruri and Juja OCS visited his home.
