Kenya set to host Africa Finance & Investment Forum for the first time

Africa Finance and Investment Forum (AFIF), 2017 to be held in Kenya.

 

The conference organized by EMRC, will be held at Strathmore University and top agenda’s to be covered in detail includes; entrepreneurship and innovation with an emphasis on access to finance in key sectors: energy, water, ICT, health, agriculture and agro-industry.

Ways how African countries can actively participate in the 4th industrial revolution will also be explored.

The Africa Finance & Investment Forum (AFIF), is an annual business platform initiated by EMRC in 2005 that aims to encourage entrepreneurship, promote the growth of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and attract the right investments to Africa.

Experts with considerable experience and insight from several international organisations such as the International Finance Corporation (World Bank), Rabobank Foundation, Japanese Intl. Cooperation Agency, African Guarantee Fund, Strathmore University, Afreximbank, European Investment Bank African and several Chambers of Commerce will hold Panel discussions on Africa SME space.

On the sidelines, six African SMEs have been nominated as finalists for the AFIF Entrepreneurship Award 2017, which is supported by the Rabobank Foundation.

Out of the 51 projects from around the continent and following a few rounds of selection, the jury has selected these innovative projects from Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania for their social, economic and ecological impact, and their potential for growth and job creation nationally and regionally.

The winner will be announced during the networking dinner, on 15 February.
