KCB, the country’s largest commercial bank, has been named as the Best Regional Bank in East Africa at the African Bakers Awards 2017 in Ahmedabad, India.
The bank was received the award for its contribution in providing financial services in the wider East African region.
KCB CEO Joshua Oigara said that the recognition was a sign of the bank’s consistent growth reinforced by its ability to deliver value to its stakeholders through sustainable banking practices.
“This award recognizes the effort we have put in and we are continuing to do to increase the number of the unbanked and integrating new technologies into the system to ensure safe and easy transactions throughout the East Africa region,” he noted.
The lender had also been nominated in the category of the most Socially Responsible Bank of the Year through KCB Foundation, recognizing the bank’s reputation of improving the lives of the less advantaged in society.

The awards came just a few days after KCB was feted by the Banker Africa Magazine with the Best Commercial Bank in Kenya and the Best Commercial Bank in East Africa at the Banker Africa East Africa awards 2017.
