Ethiopia begins construction of Africa's largest modern auto bus station
The project will cost $7.4 million and is expected to solve transportation problems upon completion.
The Addis Ababa Transport Programs Coordination Council said that the project will cost 200 million Birr ($7.4 million) and is expected to solve transportation problems upon completion.
Yeheyis Girma Selassie, Head of Pedestrians and Mass Transportation section with the Council said that the modern auto bus station would give service to 80,000 people per day upon its completion with a capacity to offer service for up to 20 auto buses on underground and main road compounds.
The project is 17 per cent complete and is expected to be operational by October next year. Chinese constructio n company, CGCOC is undertaking the project.
