Kenya's telecommunication giant, Safaricom clinches 12 awards in three award ceremonies
At the Superbrands East Africa Tribute Awards held on the same day, Safaricom was feted as one of the most outstanding brands in their field.
Kenya’s telecommunication giant, Safaricom clinched the highest number of awards at the recently concluded Marketing Society of Kenya Awards Gala held in Nairobi.
Safaricom scooped twelve awards in the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), Superbrands East Africa and FiRe (Financial Reporting) awards ceremony held last week in recognition of excellence in execution of brand and marketing campaigns.
The company took home ten awards which included; overall Marketing Company of the Year, Best Brand Implementation and Distribution Strategy for Maisha Ni M-PESA Tu campaign, Best Sports Marketing Campaign for Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom, Best New Product Launch for Jitambulishe.
“We are very excited to receive these coveted awards because it is a sign that the hard work from the various teams has not gone unnoticed. It takes a huge investment in time and resources and we are glad that most of our campaigns have not only transformed the lives of our customers but are also at a level where we can compete in a market that is becoming highly competitive with each passing day,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer, Safaricom.

The Funtastic 4Gs campaign bagged the 2 runners-up trophy for Best Advertising, together with This Is My Kenya for the Best Digital campaign category.
In addition, the Safaricom investor relations and finance team won 1 Runners-up for the Industrial, Commercial and Services category at the FiRe awards which seek to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting among entities in the East African region.
“These awards have come at a time when we just celebrated our 18 Anniversary. It is a great motivation to the team and also a vote of commitment to our customers that we are focusing on bringing excellent services and products that meet their needs” Said Ms Mulinge.
