He recently took over the helm of Kenya’s telecommunication firm after Bob Collymore momentary exited the firm on medical grounds.

Mr.Kamath is Safaricom’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Board Member of Safaricom Limited and an associate of the Vodafone Group.

He recently took over the helm of Kenya’s telecommunication firm albeit in acting capacity.

This is after Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore momentary exited the telecommunication firm on medical grounds leaving Sateesh to take charge.

Illustrious Career

Since 1992, Mr. Sateesh has worked in different companies globally.

He began as an executive finance manager, coats Viyella Ltd, Associate Finance Manager Coca-Cola, Manager Commercial Vodafone India Ltd, Senior Manager Commercial and Assurance Vodafone India Ltd, Senior Manager Finance -Vodafone, Head of finance Kerala Circle, Finance Director, Vodacom TanzaniaLtd, Finance Executive, Africa East and Asia Pacific Vodafone, Vice President, Vodafone India Ltd, and the General Manager financial planning and analysis.

Mr. Kamath joined Safaricom as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Board Member of Safaricom Limited on August 1, 2016.

Prior to joining Safaricom, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director on the Board of Vodacom Tanzania.

He possesses several set of skills and can multitask

Sateesh has experience in managing boards, shareholder issues, audit committees, mergers & acquisitions, treasury & funding, integration of acquired operations and building a world class finance organization.

He is alumni of Mahatma Gandhi University

Kamath pursued Bachelor degree in Commerce, Accounting, Costing, Taxation, economics and law at Mahatma Gandhi University and graduated in 1994.

He later joined Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) to pursue qualified cost accountant, commerce, accountancy, Taxation, and costing and graduated in 1996.

He is multi-linguist

Kamath fluently speaks five languages; English, Hindi, Konkani, Malayalam and Tamil.
