The flamboyant lifestyle of one of Kenya's top radio hosts who reportedly earns more than an MP

A look at the luxurious lifestyle of Kenya's Rave Rend

The 37 year-old has stood the test of time in the radio industry having plied his trade in the profession for over 16 years making him one of Kenya's most popular radio presenters.

Shaffie has also nicked a name in the entertainment industry, doubling up as a renowned MC hosting major events in and out of the country.

He refers to himself as "The Rave Rend" going by the party animal instincts he often portrays.

Business Insider SSA takes a look at how the 'Party King' makes and spends his money:

How he makes his money

Shaffie, who hosts Kiss 100's Big Breakfast Show, is one of the few radio hosts in Kenya said to pocket a fat salary.

He was once quoted by a local magazine as saying that, ‘I get a lot of money. Its Jackpot money.'

"I do not earn as much as the President but I get more than MPs," he quipped. Keep in mind that a Kenyan MP earns about Sh710,000 per month, so you can do the Maths.

Indeed, his salary reportedly takes him to the ‘million a month club’ as he further stated that he was one of the 15 most paid personalities in Kenya.

The rave rend is also one of the brand ambassadors of Moet Hennessy. Add to that his emceeing stint which rakes him some good cash.

How he spends his money

Shaffie is known for spending loads of money on luxury items like watches, shoes, electronics, cars and is also a lover of high-speed motorbikes. The Kiss 100 radio presenter is also said to live in one of Nairobi's suburb areas.

Early last year, he acquired a new motor bike said to be worth over one million shillings.

His fleet of cars is said to range from a BMW X6, a BMW 318, Range Rover Vogue as well as Land Rover Discovery which he recently gifted to his 3 year old daughter Nia Weru.

“That’s Nia's school bus!” Shaffie said when asked about his old car.

He owns a Montblanc 4810 Chronograph Automatic watch that retails for roughly around Kshs. 400,000.

One cannot also help but notice Shaffie's evident love for fashion.
