We spent a day at Africa's oldest ice cream parlor and its still serving ageless flavours

It has stood the test of time having opened its doors in 1952 making it Africa’s oldest ice cream parlor. The establishment serves some of the most intriguing flavours in the world,some of which go back to its opening date.

The decor is an old school American style

The ice cream menu, sundaes and dips on offer are drawn on the wall in a style reminiscent of its era.

The walls of the shop are lined with images that tell the story of its past

Its retro furnishings and decor make it an incredibly charming place

The ice cream flavours are in plenty and at affordable prices.

I sampled the Bermuda flavour which is served with ice cream toppings and it is no surprise that its a customers' favorite.

The new ice cream machine adds a touch of modernity

And the secret to maintaining their clientele? The secret recipes of the ice cream which according to the manager has helped them stay ahead of their competitors.
