The three-day event, organised by the Kenya Motor Industry Association in partnership with Total Kenya is a bi-annual event that brings together all the major automotive dealers under one roof.
On Friday President Uhuru Kenyatta made his way to Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) to officially open the 15th edition of Total Motor Show 2018.
After launching the largest and most prestigious motor exhibition in East Africa, President Kenyatta stopped by the Bavaria Motors Works, (BMW) bright and illuminating stand where he fell head over heels in love with a beautiful German machine.
“President Uhuru was here on Friday when we launched the event and he really liked the car, he even went inside and tried it, the seats are all leather and really comfortable, what you call massage seats.” Antileytah Mburu, a sales rep from BMW Kenya, told Business Insider SSA.

“We will have to sell one to him though we will have to import the car for him because it has to come with all the security features of a President’s car such as bullet proof windows etc.”
The car in question is a BMW 7 series, the 2018 BMW 740Li, retailing at just Sh22million ($220,000).
Some of the features the BMW 740Li comes with are a 3.0litre, 6 cylinder petrol engine, rear wheel drive, power windows, dual sun/moon roof, automatic transmission w/manual mode, wireless cell phone hookup and sedan body style.
Other features include; keyless entry, adjustable steering wheel, adaptive cruise control (Optional), map reading lamps, rain sensing wipers and rear parking aid, etc.

It has a top speed of 250km/h and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds.
Standing at 1.485 meters, BMW 740Li can carry up to five passengers and has a trunk capacity of 515 liters.
It is a custom built car which allows prospective buyers to choose whatever colours they like.

“For those who have money, BMW 740Li is a premium classy car for them” said Ms. Antileytah.
