Four students died in a road accident in Uganda while on their way to pick national exam results
They recorded a video of themselves before crashing into a stationary truck
Daily Monitor reports that the four, from Ndejje Secondary School, died while heading to school to pick their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results released earlier this week by the examination board.
Three of the students identified as Vincent Male, Mark Ndugga and Isaac Sserwanja died on the spot while Timothy Njogera passed on while receiving treatment at the Bombo military hospital.
Mr Charles Ssebambulidde, the Public Relations Officer at the Traffic Directorate in Kampala confirmed the incident adding that investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the accident.
The school head teacher said he was appalled by news of their death. He further stated that the institution's administration is keeping in touch with their relatives as they come to terms with the loss.
“We have received the sad news with shock. We are trying to get in touch with the relatives and police on what happened,” Dr Charles Kahigiriza, the School Head Teacher said on phone.
The UCE results were released on Wednesday by the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB).
Sources from the school indicate that Vincent male who was driving the car which crashed had scored Agg 14, Mark Ndugga got Agg 37 while Isaac Sserwanje got Agg 31.
