East Africa’s largest Shopping mall opens new wing set to redefine the shopping experience

The Village Market is East Africa’s largest Shopping, Recreation and Entertainment destination. The complex is home to over 150 outlets covering 210,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of office space among many other facilities.
The Cabinet Secretary of Toursim, Najib Balala, Environment CS, Judy Wakhungu, Mining CS, Dan Kazungu and Nairobi County Deputy Governor, Polycarp Igathe were some of high profile guest who graced the opening.
Hamed Ehsani, Managing Director of Village Market said the mall which since its inception 14 years ago has earned numerous accolades including the coveted International Council of Shopping Centres’ Design Award will revolutionized the Kenya’s shopping experience while redefining recreation and entertainment.
"You will have 30,000 square ft of gym- IgniteFitness will be opened and the food court has an interesting concept and lots of food, all for you are welcome to try" He said.
CS Judy Wakhungu thanked the mall management for observing the plastic ban and said fellow malls should emulate Village market exemplary noble deed.
"We are impressed, fascinated, Hongera! I appreciate Village Market for being the first mall to carry out the ban of plastic bags." She said.
Nairobi Deputy Governor promised the county would work closely with the establishment and make sure ‘the City in the Sun’ restores its lost glory.
" We shall work with you hand in hand." Mr. Igathe said.
The mall essentially provides Nairobi residents with high-end shopping and entertainment, satisfying a niche that was not previously explored.
As the name suggests, the complex embodies the spirit of the African market in an open-air setting. To live up to its African theme, are waterfalls, rivers and over 2000 exotic plants and gardens, giving this magnificent shopping centre an edge over other shopping malls.
