The guests enjoyed an English brunch, a romantic night for two inclusive of dinner, champagne at the Windsor suite and a helicopter ride to Mt Kenya for breakfast.

One couple told The Standard newspaper that they had come to get ideas for their own wedding.

"We are getting married soon and came here to get inspiration on wedding ideas. The event has been very enjoyable and the money was well worth it," they said.

The event's price tag divided opinion online in a country where the GDP per head currently stands at Ksh170,100 ($1,701).
