A hotel in Nairobi is charging $10,000 to watch the royal wedding — but Kenyans can't stand the ticket price

The British royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is set for 19 May

Well, this hotel in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi will charge an eye watering Sh1 million ($10,000) for a couple.

The event dubbed 'A Royal Wedding Celebration’ will see guests treated to the live coverage of the British royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on 19 May at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.

The Ksh.1M voucher will cater for a romantic night with an exotic candle light dinner and Champagne at their suites, a chopper ride to Kenya for breakfast “as you watch the sun rise,” pick and drop as well as meals with all taxes included.

English cuisine

“Come dressed in your finest wedding guest attire and enjoy and English brunch by a seasoned English chef James Dennis,” reads part of the requirements in the notice.

The ticket price has however ruffled feathers online with a section of Kenyans 'seeing no importance' in attending the event for such a hefty price.

It would take one more than ten years to earn the ticket price with the GDP per head in Kenya currently standing at Ksh170,100 ($1,701).
