African Union and IGAD warns Kenya will face sanctions if the President poll is unlawful

IGAD, is an eight-country trade block which Kenya is a member and comprises of governments from the horn of Africa, Nile Valley and the African great lakes whose mandate is to promote regional integration by enabling enabling environment for foreign, cross-border and domestic trade and investment among others.
Already, Commonwealth election observers have announced they will scale down on activities in the repeat presidential elections citing security concerns.
“The Commonwealth is not deploying an election observation group for the presidential election.
"We sent a team of observers to the first set of elections and this time we will have a presence in the form of Commonwealth staff who are already on the ground."
The IGAD warning comes even as a group of Jubilee-affiliated professionals wants the body together with the African Union (AU) to hold opposition leader Raila Odinga responsible should there be civil strife and instability due to crisis emanating from the repeat presidential election.
