Raila Odinga risks losing Twitter Verification badge after declaring himself '5th President of Kenya'
The NASA leader was sworn in as the People's President at Uhuru Park
According to Twitter's guidelines on revoking the verified status of accounts, one may lose the blue tick on grounds of intentionally misleading people with information on the application.
With the Opposition Chief changing his status to the President of the Republic of Kenya, users may report his account on the above grounds causing him to lose the blue tick.
Meanwhile, anonymous accounts on Wikipedia changed Raila's profile to the "5th President of Kenya" minutes after his swearing-in.
Oath ceremony
Mr. Odinga took oath as the People's President on Tuesday afternoon in the presence of thousands of supporters at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
His deputy Kalonzo Musyoka was however not present at the ceremony as well as NASA Co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula. It was not yet clear why they did not grace the oath ceremony with Raila saying that he would give reasons for their absence later.
The opposition says it wants to create an alternative government to protest President Uhuru Kenyatta's rule. They argue that Mr. Odinga validly won the Aug 8 General Election.
Even then, the government has warned that Tuesday's events amount to treason - an offense punishable by death.
