How the international media is covering the Kenyan elections

The foreign media has been apprehensive in its reporting given the uncertainty that comes with the high-stakes polls.

The Kenyan elections have always attracted global attention with international observers and media converging in the country to cover the polls.

Much focus has been on the foreign media though, who always perceive the exercise to be a recipe for election violence.

This year’s elections have been termed as the most tightly-contested between Jubilee Presidential Candidate Uhuru Kenyatta and his main rival National Super Alliance’s Raila Odinga.

However, as of Wednesday afternoon, provisional results from the electoral body gave President Kenyatta a cutting edge over his opponent as he led by 54 per cent of the votes tallied against Raila's 44 per cent from 38769 out of 40883 polling stations.
