President Kenyatta unveils new police uniform and Kenyans think it’s ‘ugly’

The new police uniform was unveiled by the head-of-state on Thursday

The new uniforms are part of radical changes in the police sector which Mr Kenyatta said should grant Kenya “a new service”.

"The uniform will enhance better visibility for the officers,” said President Uhuru as the uniforms were showcased at the Kenya School of Government.

However, Kenyans on social media were left an uninspired lot with the choice of colour and design of the police uniform with some saying it looked “dull and old fashioned”.

Other Kenyans questioned why Mr Kenyatta only settled for new uniforms instead of addressing issues affecting the police like better salary.
