Photos have emerged of Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga enjoying sometime off in Zanzibar.
Raila has been away from the country for the past three days.
Raila, who has been in Zanzibar for the past three days, was seen with a woman, identified as Sasha Seraphine Mbote at Park Hyatt hotel.
The two were celebrating the resignation of Robert Mugabe as the President of Zimbabwe on Tuesday night.
"I celebrated Zimbabwe with Baba," Sasha's Facebook caption read.
Mbote, a Kenyan who runs a spa at the hotel, said she ran into Raila and decided to take photos with him.
The Opposition leader has been away from the country since Sunday owing to the unrest witnessed in the country since his arrival on Friday last week, according to his long-time political advisor Salim Lone. This despite the fact that he was expected to jet back into the country on Tuesday.
“The unrest pushed Mr Odinga out of the country. He left Kenya on Sunday night. He is now in Zanzibar, off the coast of mainland Tanzania,” said Lone.
The Nasa leader, through Mr. Lone, questioned the urgency with which the Supreme Court made its unanimous decision, with all the six judges who sat on the bench, upholding the October 26 polls. Mr Odinga, however, castigated the decision saying the Court acted under duress.
The Nasa camp has vowed to swear in Mr. Odinga as the President come next week, stating that they do not recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta as the duly elected leader in the just concluded repeat poll.
