Vehicle owners plying Mombasa Road suffered the wrath of supporters who clashed with police officers along the busy road as opposition leader Raila Odinga jetted back into the country.
The cars were stoned along Mombasa road.
Cars using the route had their wind screens smashed by groups of youth who had gone to receive their leader at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) but were restricted from doing so by armed police officers.
Photos and videos seen by Business Insider SSA pointed to the massive damage caused by the supporters who at the same time led to a massive traffic snarl up along the busy road.
Mr.Odinga jetted back into the country on Friday morning having spent an entire 10 days in the US on an official trip.
Police had earlier warned the Opposition supporters against heading to the airport to receive their leader noting that doing so would "risk jeopardizing the safety of air operators, passengers, and other airport users."
