Uganda's President was caught red handed consuming 'highly addictive' drink he had vowed never to touch
Mr. Museveni has in the past urged leaders to emulate his ‘firmness and principals’ in matters of life and leadership.
During the official opening of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) in Kampala, Mr. Museveni while urging the legislators to promote integration within East Africa said he was eternally grateful to Kenyans from liberating him from ‘highly addictive’ Coca-Cola drink, a soft drink sold by the Coca-Cola Company associated with diabetes when taken in huge amounts.
“In 1965, Kenyans liberated me from Coca-Cola. The beverage was the only decent drink one would find then. One day, I came across packed milk, KCC, from Kenya. I stopped drinking Coca-Cola but also began contributing to the prosperity of Kenyan farmers by consuming their milk.” He tweeted.
Mr. Museveni who has in the past urged leaders to emulate his ‘firmness and principals’ in matters of life and leadership, during the World Cup Trophy visit to Uganda proved that his spirit may be strong but his body is weak when it comes to modern life luxuries like Coca-Cola.
Or just like other ordinary mortals who once dead cannot resurrect he too has cheat days and once in a while doesn't mind gobbling down a few bottles.
In the full glare of Camera’s the former Guerrilla fighter was captured sipping a full glass of Coca-Cola and from the picture he seem to rather enjoy it.
After sipping the ‘highly addictive’ drink he went ahead and thanked FIFA delegations and added it showed FIFA’s confidence in Uganda by recognising our international competitive football abilities.
It might be the Coca-Cola speaking and not him as he went ahead and tweeted a couple of celebratory messages about football and expressed optimism that Uganda’s National team ‘Cranes’ will qualify for the World cup 2022.
Apart from Coca-Cola, other foods and drinks the 73 year old leader has said he doesn't’t touch include; Rice, bread, fish, chicken and Pork.
He instead prefers consuming locally produced foods and drinking lots of milk which he attributes to his youthful looks and longevity to keep ruling the pearl of Africa.
But after being caught red-handed cheating who knows what is the truth anymore? Only Uganda’s first lady Janet Museveni can authoritatively tell us.
