Paris Saint Germain (PSG) after paying the release amount of Neymar from Barcelona issued a statement to confirm the player's arrival.
PSG said "his arrival into the Paris Saint-Germain family emphasizes more than ever the club's aims to rise to the top of world football."
He will earn 5 billion KES (£40.7m) a year ,which breaks down to 106 million KES (£782,000) a week - before tax from the initial five-year deal, a total outlay of 55billion KES (£400m).
Neymar said: 'Since I arrived in Europe, the club has always been one of the most competitive and most ambitious.
'And the biggest challenge, what most motivated me to join my new teammates is to help the club to conquer the titles that their fans want. Paris Saint-Germain’s ambition attracted me to the club, along with the passion and the energy this brings.
'I played four seasons in Europe and I feel ready to take the challenge. From today, I will do everything I can to help my new team-mates, to open up new horizons for my club and to bring happiness to its millions of supporters around the world.'
Neymar joined Barcelona from Santos in another huge transfer that has been the subject of several investigations and court proceedings to due to its complex nature. He scored 105 goals and won a treble with the club.
