Georgetown Preparatory School isn't your average high school.

Located in suburban Bethesda, Maryland, Georgetown Prep's 93-acre campus features perks like a recording studio, a swimming pool and a nine-hole golf course. A year's tuition at the all-boys Catholic school costs as much as $60,000.

In less than a month, the Supreme Court could feature two Georgetown Prep alumni — Neil Gorsuch graduated in 1985, while nominee Brett Kavanaugh graduated in 1983.

The school dates back to 1789, when it shared a campus with Georgetown University. The Jesuit-affiliated schools were the brainchild of John Carroll, the first bishop and archbishop in the US.

About 500 students attend Georgetown Prep, and the average class size is 16 students, according to the school's site.

Students must follow a strict dress code: a navy blazer, khaki pants, brown or black dress shoes, and a "tasteful necktie." Students also must be clean-shaven and maintain a neat, short haircut.

Service is a required component of the Georgetown Prep curriculum. Rising seniors take summer service trips to places like Nicaragua and Senegal, as well as underserved communities closer to home like Baltimore and New Orleans.

Georgetown Prep has seen renewed attention for being the alma mater of Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump's nominee to replace Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court.

In his remarks at the White House last month, Kavanaugh gave a nod to the school: "The motto of my Jesuit high school was 'Men for others.' I’ve tried to live that creed," he said.

Georgetown Prep also happens to be the alma mater of Neil Gorsuch, who was confirmed to the Supreme Court in 2017. Gorsuch graduated in 1985, two years after Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh's nomination was well-received on campus. "Certainly it’s a feather in their cap," Kevin Dowd, Kavanaugh's high school basketball coach, told The New York Times. "I just hope they don’t get carried away and raise tuition."
