Nation Media Group announces exit of CEO

No reason was given for his exit two years into his role

Kenya's largest media group,Nation Media has announced the exit of its Chief Executive Officer Joseph Muganda with effect from January, 2018.

In press release issued by the company,it thanked Mr.Muganda for his services and efforts in pushing the company towards a strong digital path.

Mr.Muganda joined the Nation Media Group in 2015 from his previous role as managing director of Kenya Breweries Limited. He replaced the then retiring Linus Gathi.

He had served in several senior positions at British American Tobacco, Unilever and Barclays Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Science in economics, accounting and financial management from Buckingham University and an MBA from University of Leicester.

According to the statement, Mr. Stephen Gitagama, the current Chief Financial officer will act in the interim.

Nation Media Group operates leading newspapers Daily Nation,Business Daily, The East African and NTV.
