Tuskys Supermarket have revealed plans to open the largest store in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
Retail chain to open largest store in Nairobi after closing "Tuskys Beba Beba"
The new store will be opened later this month.
This is according to the retail chain’s CEO Dan Githua who also said that plans are underway to relocate the famous ”Beba Beba” branch that was closed earlier in the week.
The Tom Mboya based store came as a shock to the over 6,000 daily customers it used to serve.
However, Mr. Githua said that the situation was beyond their control as the lender, Bank of Baroda, sold the building to a developer whose investment is considered to be profitable compared to letting it out to Tuskys.
That said, the CEO stated that the retail chain will this month open the largest biggest store in Nairobi’s CBD.
“Tuskys Imara is still our biggest Store in CBD in terms of square feet, but the new store which is a merger between Tuskys Ronald Ngala & Tuskys Magic will be our biggest branch in Nairobi CBD,” said Githua.
Moreover, the supermarket will look for a new location to accommodate Tuskys Beba Beba.
“We can’t let that go, Tuskys Beba Beba has to find a home even though we could not find a home as fast we wanted.”
Additionally, more convenience stores will also be opened across Shell-branded fuel stations before the end of the year.
“A few stores will come this month and we are also in discussions to partner with other fuel retailers.”
