Kenyan innovator is set to share stage with the co-founder of LinkedIn and former Italian president Matteo Renzi

The renowned Kenyan innovator has been confirmed as one of the speakers during this year’s Misk Global Forum, a global conference for thought leaders.

Evans Wadongo, a renowned Kenyan innovator has been confirmed as one of the speakers during this year’s Misk Global Forum, a global conference for thought leaders set to take place on November 15-16.

Wadongo is one of only two Africans set to speak, the other one being South African in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where the conference will be held at.

The 2010 CNN Hero, in 2013 he co-founded Greenwize Energy Limited, an enterprise that designs and implements renewable energy solutions.

In 2004 he designed a solar lamp called ‘Mwanga Bora’ (Good light) to save eyesight and improves lives in impoverished communities in rural Kenya by replacing smoky kerosene lamps and firelight which gave him international recognition.

In 2013, he was named as among top 30 under 30 most promising young entrepreneurs by Forbes Africa.

The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) graduate will speak alongside industry leaders including, Allen Blue who is the co-founder of LinkedIn and former Italian president Matteo Renzi.

The Misk Global Forum is now in its second year brings young leaders, creators and thinkers together with established global innovators to explore, experience and experiment with ways to meet the challenge of change.

Some of the main themes which Wadongo will shed light on at the global stage include living, learning, working and contributing.

The forum will also discuss how to navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is the technological revolution.

The speaking engagement is set to propell Wadongo’s career and shine his light even further.

Through his organization, Sustainable Development for All– Kenya (SDFA-Kenya) which was founded in 2006 and has impacted directly over 120,000 people to date, Evans Wadongo continues to be an inspiration to young people in technology and innovation especially in Africa.
