Nigerian digital startup, Publiseer, accepted into 2018 Venture Incubation Program in South Africa

The 12-week mentor-led program will take place at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town.

The Venture Incubation Programme (VIP) is designed to provide a supportive ecosystem to help African startups build viable and scalable innovation-driven companies.

Chidi Nwaogu, Co-founder of Publiseer, in an email note to Business Insider Sub-Saharan Africa, on Thursday, August 16, 2018, said he believed the startup has what it takes to become a leader in content distribution in Africa.

"The University of Cape Town is one of the best universities in Africa, and of course the Venture Incubation Programme will be more than building viable businesses.

“I believe with this programme, Publiseer will become the next big thing in the space of digital content distribution in Africa," Nwaogu said.

The 12-week mentor-led program will take place at Solution Space, Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town, in Cape Town, from September 3, 2018, to November 30, 2018.

Publiseer and other selected startups will have access to a range of resources including co-working space.

According to the organisers, the programme is worth R300,000 (over $20,000) in equivalent value.

Run on a bi-annual basis in partnership with telco giant, MTN Group, the program selects 10 startups across Africa in the areas of fintech, e-commerce, Agritech among others.

Publiseer recently crossed subscription of 1.5 million streams.
