Mutoko took to her video column where she stated that Odinga had every reason to be angry, claiming that the Opposition leader’s team had failed him.
“Raila has every reason to be upset. He did his job at his age, he got up every day and campaigned and told vitendawilis and stories. What the hell were the rest of you doing?” Mutoko remarked.
The former radio presenter also used her YouTube video column to defend Judge Njoki Ndung’u from some of the attacks that have followed in the wake of her dissenting opinion in the presidential petition.
According to Mutoko, Justice Ndungu’s critics were not bothered by her ruling but by the fact that she exposed the sloppiness that is part of the Kenyan way of doing things.
“I am with Njoki…her long reading unveiled our sloppiness. She didn’t just unveil the sloppiness in her colleagues and in the manner certain things were done. She didn’t just unveil the sloppiness in the time and detail she took to read her judgement. She made us uncomfortable by making us realize we are a sloppy people,” the veteran broadcaster stated.
Mutoko further dismissed the petion filed by lawyer Appolo Mboya calling for the Supreme Court judge to be punished for “bad attitude towards colleagues”.
"The lady justice, in her dissent, exhibited total lack of courtesy and civility towards her fellow judges and bad judicial temperament in her general attitude towards the law and other judges as contained in her dissent judgment," Mboya’s petition reads in part.
