The woman who claims to be an orphan went to the Children’s court in Eldoret on Tuesday to demand that the court grants her Sh50,000 every month for upkeep.
She claims that Kipruto and she lived together for the year 2015-2016. During that time they had a son before they separated and he cut all forms of communication with her.
Cohabiting
“We cohabited as husband and wife from May 2015 and were blessed with one child…Our relationship and perceived marriage has gone sour to the extent that the defendant doesn’t contact us, and doesn’t provide for the minor, leaving me to struggle alone for the welfare of the minor,” says her affidavit.
She explained that she is unemployed and that Conseslus’ decision to marry another woman spelt trouble for their son’s life.
The lady who wants Conseslus to be ordered by the court to pay Sh15,000 for food, Sh15,000 for rent, Sh12,000 for clothing, Sh3,000 for electricity and water and Sh5,000 for a house help and medical expenses stated that his attitude expresses that Conseslus will not support the family unless ordered by court.
She believes that he is capable to provide the stated needs since his one of the most established athletes in the country, “He is a successful athlete of international repute with means and resources to meet the basic requirements of the minor while in my custody."
The case was filed in Febraury this year but had not yet been heard.
She sought for help from the Center of Human Rights and Democracy (CHRD) in Eldoret that helped her file the case. “She came to us for assistance and we will provide the lawyer to prosecute the case for her”, said CEO Ken Wafula.
Conseslus has been summoned to court on September 25, 2017 for the hearing of the case.
