Deputy President William Ruto, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other running mates failed to show up fir the highly anticipated event.

The committee divulged that candidates who failed to turn up citing consultation issues were lying to the public stating that had engaged them all through.
“The suggestion that the candidates did not know about these debates is therefore at best dishonest.
“The debates are driven by the enduring principle that the media is a watchdog for society and provides a platform for alternative visions to contend,” part of the statement reads.
It adds,"The committee wanted to be as inclusive as possible in the debates. This is why even the candidates with less than five per cent support were still scheduled to have their own debate."
The DP failed to show up claiming that he was not consulted on the format and got the invitation one week prior to the debate.
On the other hand, Kalonzo failed to show up with no reason with only Eliud Muthiora Kariara, gracing the event.
