Police have launched investigations into an incident where a 27 year old man from Homa Bay County committed suicide hours after a heated argument with his Girlfriend.

The man identified as Lucas Otieno Okeyo killed himself on Thursday morning, at his house in in Rabuor Masawa Village in Arujo Sub-Location.
Confirming the incident Arujo senior assistant chief, Jackton Olielo, said the deceased left his girlfriend sleeping in the bedroom and went ahead to commit suicide in the living room using a sisal rope.

The assistant chief added that the couple had quarreled the better part of the day at a drinking joint in Homa Bay Town. The cause of their quarrel remains unknown.
Reports indicate that the girlfriend woke up minutes later and found her partner had hanged himself, raising alarm that attracted neighbours attention.
Okeyo’s body was taken to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue as investigations continue.

Nyeri town
Away from the Homa Bay incident, a woman in Ngangarithi estate, Nyeri town, hacked to death a robber who had broken into her shop.
The incident happened at around 3 am when two robbers broke into a shop with the intention of stealing goods.
A neighbor who witnessed the robbery alerted the woman’s husband saying that their shop had been broken into.
