9 days blindfolded and tied were the most tormenting of my entire life – Billionaire Mo Dewji recounts ordeal in hands of kidnappers

Tanzanian billionaire Mohammed 'Mo' Dewji has opened up on his kidnapping that took place one year ago, (October 11, 2018).

In a series of tweets, Mo Dewji who is said to be the youngest billionaire in Africa reminisced the nine days he was held captive by the kidnappers.

The businessman recounted how he was blindfolded for nine straight days without knowing what was going to happen to him.

He went on to say that it was the most distressing time of his whole life, but he is thankful to God, he made it back safe and sound.

One year ago today I was kidnapped. Those 9 days blindfolded and tied were the most tormenting of my entire life. The uncertainty of whether I’d live to see the next minute was tortuous, but thanks to the Almighty God, and the prayers of many, I survived the ordeal My safe return is the true testament to the power of prayer! The blessing of a second chance at life. Thank you to all my fellow Tanzanians and everyone one around the world for your prayers and unwavering support. May the Almighty handle all your endeavors most favorably,” wrote Dewji.

Kidnapped

His words come exactly a year after he was kidnapped by unknown gunmen as he was headed to a gym in Tanzania’s Dar es Salaam. the gunmen who hid their faces in masks shot in the air before they grabbed the MeTL Group boss.

After he was kidnapped, his family offered a reward Sh44 million to anyone who would give information that would lead to his whereabouts.

The kidnappers later on released him without asking for anything.
